Now that the new Android Find My Device network is live, trackers that resemble AirTags are also available. However, what happens if there are iPhones and Android phones in the same household? This is where Pebblebee's particular trackers come in handy because they are compatible with both Apple Find My and Android finder networks

The Find My Device network is just now making its debut on Android. When it's fully implemented, it will employ Android phones all across the world to assist in finding misplaced trackers, earphones, and cellphones. On the other hand, iOS has long had this feature thanks to AirTag. Other than "unknown tracker" alerts, the AirTag is inoperable with Android. Additionally, you are essentially restricted to using a single network when using "Find My" trackers from other brands.

In light of this, families who own both Android and iPhone phones find themselves in a difficult situation. Which trackers are the best buys? Family members of Android cannot utilize them in any way at all if they are AirTags.

Here's where Pebblebee comes into play.

The Pebblebee Tag, Card, and Clip trackers are compatible with both Apple's Find My network and Android's Find My Device network. In a press statement, Pebblebee states:

The only multi-platform linked tracking solution that is compatible natively with Apple® FindMyTM MFi-certified trackers and asset management systems as well as Google's Find My Device ecosystem is Pebblebee.

When we contacted Pebblebee to inquire further about the workings of this, the company provided us with some important details.

First and foremost, no, these cannot function simultaneously. Although the device itself can be configured to function with both Apple's and Android's Find My network, it is a one-or-the-other scenario.

Pebblebee adds that you don’t need the company’s app to do this. The app is only needed for firmware updates and to add some additional features using the button on the tracker.

Notably, Pebblebee’s website currently has a disclaimer that pretty clearly says that the tracker “does not work with the Apple Find My app.” I wasn’t given an explanation for why that disclaimer says this, but Pebblebee representatives and even the CEO assured me repeatedly that the trackers being sold today work with both networks, just one at a time. I’ve asked the company if the language will be revised.
